12. hmm
I would take-

1. My briefcase (which usually has my laptop, PDA, cell phone, check book, and school work in it)

2. A handful of clothes

3. My family bible (dated from the early 1800's)

And of course my wallet and keys.

I keep everything that's valuable (i.e., Passport, Birth Certificate, watches, rings, etc.) in a fireproof safe in my closet.

I also keep a list of items that I own (from clothes to TV's) along with their receipts (for expensive items) in a safe deposit box. It's always good to have proof for the insurance company :)

14. I learned that from my grandparents
Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 03:34 AM by Scooter24
They have a summer home in Florida and with all the potential for disaster (Hurricanes) they taught me to always prepare for the worst. It calms the nerves if something terrible should happen.

I also have a rope ladder in my closet to tie and throw over the railing of my balcony to climb down in case of a fire outside my bedroom door. I always get a lot of shit from my friends over that one, lol, but at least my bones will stay intact. :)
