1. gad!
Your desk looks clean compared to mine!

Mine is stacked with things to be scanned and sold on eBay, bills and papers, a couple hundred postcards to be priced, yadda yadda yadda. Oh, and some fluffs of cat fur, too.

2. I understand the cat fur.... I have a magic dog that sheds enough
hair to make two dogs from on a daily basis. ;-)

11. ALLLLLLRIGHT! Now that's the way a Democratic desk should be!
Peanuts, coffee and a lighter. Outside of the computer and printer, what else does a DUer need?

Thanks for posting!

What about you other DUers with cameras? Show off your workspace!

9. I love it! What a beautiful cat!
Though it makes me sad. My Rhiannon used to do the same thing and bite at my fingers when I tried to type. I guess she thought I was playing with her or thought my hands would have been put to better use petting her!;(

I have no picture of my desk to post, but I can say that you all are neat-freaks when compared to me!:D

She's real brave about acting like she's going to rip a cat apart, but one little swipe to the nose and you'd think the dog lost a limb.

24. I was going to ask where the other five cats were
I will never forget the night you helped someone rescue an injured skunk from under his house. You were up most of the night, anyway, because you were at fear for your life from six fasting cats, four of whom were scheduled to be neutered in the morning.:D

BTW, I managed to fast my cat and bring her in for dental surgery, which also required a general. I felt guilty as hell because when I found her she was abandoned and hungry and I never want her to have that feeling again!:-(

I'd love to see the rest of your kitties. Here is my scaredy-cat! This was taken just behind the computer desk. It faces the bay window and there have been times she has jumped on the keyboard to get down and has nearly sent off e-mails or posted to DU! LOL! :7

28. It's a carpet and the cat food stains don't show up in the photo
I also need help moving the couch as she threw up behind it, earlier. After she had dental surgery on Tuesday, leaving her with only two teeth, she needs to rethink her preferences for cat food that comes in pieces, rather than ground. I think it's time to break out the baby food! My guys rival no one for messiness!:puke:

30. What a sweet dog! I just love the face and the expression!
I can almost feel the soft fur! She looks positively angelic!O8)

My poor scaredy cat is afraid of even my little dog, who she outweighs by a couple of pounds. Would your dog like to meet mine? I lost my beloved cocker, Sheena, three months ago and my tiny little guy is positively lost without his protector and friend. Your lovely dog reminds me a little of my sweet Sheena:-)

34. Cute Dogs! Sweet!
I'm sure Blue would love your dogs.

I believe she's an Austraian Shepherd. She adopted me one snowy morning about four years ago. She jumped into my truck, uninvited, and did not want to get out.

I put her out because I knew she must belong to someone else then drove off toward a busy road. Looking in the rearview mirror, I saw she was following me. I knew that if she followed the truck into the heavy traffic she probably wouldn't survive so I stopped and let her back in and off to wotk we went together.

I ran ads and put up posters but no one claimed her. I guess she claimed me.

35. I guess she did. What a sweet girl. You are very fortunate, as was she.
That is a truly lovely story. I am choked up as I type this. I adopted my sweet Sheena by accident, as well. My friend says they find us and I have come to believe her.:-)

My perfect cocker spaniel, Barney, was on prescription food. He was running out, so I went to his vet's one evening to get another case. His vet was out of town, so he gave the name of another nearby animal hospital to consult in case of emergency. I went there and when they learned I had a cocker spaniel they asked me if I wanted another. I told them that I had lost my little Samantha the month before so I was not. They explained that they had this dog, whose owner had died. The estate was paying to board her for a month. After that, if not adopted, she would be sent to the shelter or euthanized, if the no-kill shelter did not have room. How could I let them add insult to injury for this poor dog?

I lost my beloved Barney last November, at 18. I was devastated and Sheena was noticeably unhappy. I found out about this tiny Brussels Griffon, whose owner had also died. He was nine and had been placed separately from his biological sister. He also faced euthanasia because his adoptive home was not working out. I took a chance on him, as well. My vet gave me reasons why he thought it could work, but it worked out better than I could have imagined. My little guy bonded with Sheena that very first day. He slept behind her on her bed and followed her lead in everything. I cannot believe I have lost her, as well. I did all I possibly could, but lost her three months ago. My little guy misses her so. I feel bad, but feel worse for him. He lost a second sister. I think he would like your dog. She seems very sweet, like my Sheena.:-)

36. Gee, It sounds as if you like dogs! <grin>
One funny thing about Blue, she is amazingly bright and well behaved UNTIL... another human enters the house. The her brain squirts out her ear and she becomes opie from Garfield. Her only purpose in life at that moment is to make sure that the new human knows that it is not only welcome but the human's arrival is on a scale on par with the 2nd coming.

If anyone ever broke into my house, Blue would help them carry things to their truck.

I'm moving in a month and I'm short-timing myself (why clean up when you're just going to be packing all that stuff?).

Sorry, but no photos -- I've got my pride, more or less. :toast:
