Poll question: When will the Braves choke |
|
It's that time of year again. When the leaves fall, the temperature cools, football get's into full swing and the Braves underacieve. This wouldn't really bother except I'm a Reds fan and when they go and choke they're asses off; it's makes the whole National League look bad. Greg Maddox right in front of my eye's goes from future Hall of Famer to a 18 year old kid pitching batting practice to on a Single A team somwhere in Hodunk in the middle of August. I think they'll make it to the NLCS, but once people start to tune in they'll fold like a bath towell under the pressure.

7. You know what I don't like about the Braves? |
|
They play dirty. Hell, Capn Sunshine has a scar from where he was spiked by a Braves player in 1973.

6. They will beat Boston in Game 7 of WS... |
|
Of course, they will have tried their best to choke. They will be facing the Boston Red Sox though, two negative forces trying to cancel each other out and leading to the weakest of positives. Any other team, even the White Sox, and the Braves get swept, 4 up-4 down, in World Series. But try as they might, they just won't be able to lose to Boston.
Braves will take Game 7 of WS. Winning run walked home in 9th, after Byung-Hyun Kim loads the bases. Grady Little decides to let the kid work through his past demons and stay on the mound.

9. right...of course...extra innings... |
|
Chipper will be given the bunt sign with 2 outs and 0 on base...he'll screw up the bunt, hitting off the bottom of bat, it'll bounce off of Manny's head and barely clear the wall. Chipper will apologize for the bad bunt all Winter.

Maybe they choke again in the postseason, maybe they don't. This isn't the same kind of Braves team.
And twelve straight division titles? I can think of a lot of other teams who'd like to choke like that...

They always choke in the post season. They could have all the post season expierience in the world and they would still choke. Every October the Braves go from great major league baseball team, to single A rookies that have no ability to win.
