Why do people who 'don't care about sports' have to always reply to sports
threads with a negative or sarcastic remark? Does it make them seem superior to us 'neanderthal' sports fans?

1. I don't care about sports and
I never bother to even read those threads let alone reply to them. I'm sure there are far more silent apathetic sports folks than condescending ones. Can't say I much care what anyone finds relaxing or diverting. Sports, drama, sitcoms, music, mystery novels whatever makes you happy man.

3. Thank you.
I have no problem with non-sports fans. It is the ones who always jump on threads and bitch about sports that irk me.

2. Because the less you care about sports, the more intelligent you are
And if you don't even own a TV, you are almost godlike.

7. If you only get news from Indymedia, you are no longer in the 'almost'
category, especially if your bookshelves have nothing but Noam Chomsky.

5. Just trying to post my way out of the 700 club
Nothing personal. Besides, I generally like football -- just not that interested in it this year. :)
