What's the difference between Club Soda and Seltzer?
I was thinking about it after i posted this poll.

What is the difference? I'm not 100% sure.... I think club soda contains sodium, and seltzer doesn't. Am i wrong?

1. One would never put club soda down one's pants, I think.

8. packaging & delivery
Edited on Tue Nov-30-04 08:24 PM by phaseolus
I believe both are simply carbonated water. Club Soda is either a "fountain beverage" or comes prepackaged in bottles or cans like any other soft drink.

Seltzer, I think, is more properly the stuff in those old-fashioned refillable glass bottles. Any elderly life-long NYC residents got something to add? I heard there used to be home seltzer delivery there...

Tonic Water contains quinine and maybe some other stuff.

11. You are correct
Club soda has the salt. Tonic water is flavored with quinine (or it used to be, anyway). Seltzer is nothing but water and CO2. When I quit drinking booze I switched to seltzer, and I've been drinking two or three liters of it a day for many years.
