any Opera users in the DU?

I have a few probs with my version (5) that I attribute to the code of early versions of Opera not being entirely in accordance with W3C conventions. When I post I get a blank white screen and have to use a utility that whoever wrote this site has kindly scripted for that sort of situation. And I sometimes get a timeout when reloading a page - not often though.

I have a copy of version 7 somewhere that might have sorted the bugs out, assuming that's what it is.

Any other Opera users get probs?

I'd upgrade, might fix the headaches. I get formatting/button issues some places, but never on DU! :) Elad rocks!

I'd imagine they've fixed a lot of bugs in the newer versions, so it's probably worth the small headaches.

On a side note, I have to say I was thoroughly fascinated with all the language stuff you posted last night! Neat! I can *imagine* what a lot of it sounds like, but a few of those threw me for a loop...!

4. I run 7.x at work

and have never had problems with this site. I'd try upgrading-- partially because the W3C comes out with new recommendations all the time, and the browsers get better at interpreting them all the time, too.

I have no problems posting on DU.

Older versions gave me issues, but 7x seems pretty stable so far.

7. Used to use it, switched to AvantBrowser

Opera was too much of a pain in the ass, displayed things in a quirky manner, and didn't play well with the browser detect scripts.

No problems other than bullshit websites blocking Opera because of "security" issues....lol
