Damn lunar calendar, I could've really used the extra couple of weeks! Why do my people have to be all uppity and our-own-separate-holidays-havin' an' shit?

1. Asthmatic, don't stress. I know what you mean (celebrate Hanukkah, too).
We're not 'uppity' having our own 'separate' holidays? What, Hanukkah is the "Jewish Christmas" now? Sheesh!

How about gift certificates? They're easy to get and don't take long (that's my plan for the family and friends).

3. I'm not shopping this year, I was planning to make all my cards and gifts.
You know, "starve the beast" and all that. I screwed myself sideways by not thinking to check the freakin' date before just now.

12. I'm a designer and I'm broke.
Though it's kind of you to say I'm sweet, it's more that I'm rotten pissed at the corporate sector and they can't have what little is left of my money.

5. I remember once when it started in November.
And I'm pretty sure I remember another year when it landed on or even after Christmas. It's all over the damn place. In the Hebrew lunar calendar, a leap year adds an extra month instead of an extra day, so it can vary pretty wildly from year to year in comparison with the solar calendar.

8. I recall when it was in November also. Was it last year? It was like
right after Thanksgiving.

10. 2002, I think. November 29th or 30th or something.
Edited on Tue Nov-30-04 10:39 PM by asthmaticeog
On edit: I looked it up. 1978, 1st day was December 25th. 2002, 1st day was November 30th.
