"Brutus" The 100 Pound Tortoise Missing From Home
<snip>

There's a 100-pound tortoise on the loose in Texas.

Members of a Weatherford family are worried about their missing pet, Brutus.

Ann Mutschler believes someone stole the 16-year-old Sulcata tortoise while the family did some Christmas shopping on Saturday.

She said Parker County Sheriff's Department investigators have dusted the home for fingerprints and desperately wants her pet home.

"We need him to come home .... he's a family member," Mutschler said.

Mutschler described Brutus as having a yellow and brown pattern on his back. She told the Dallas Morning News that the creature looks "real bumpy."

2. "Tortoise Shout" by D.H. Lawrence
the last stanza:

Torn, to become whole again, after long seeking for what is lost,
The same cry from the tortoise as from Christ, the Osiris-cry of abandonment,
That which is whole, torn asunder,
That which is in part, finding its whole again throughout the universe.

I think Brutus is gettin' some.
