Am I having auditory hallucinations? What would cause this? |
|
I'm listening to music and the songs seem to change keys and parts seem to be accompanied by a music box. This is heavy metal. I'm familiar with the songs and they don't change keys and I'm pretty sure they aren't accompanied by a music box. No, the musical equipment shouldn't be malfunctioning. These are mp3's I'm playing on the computer.
I'm in a lot of pain from my neck...seeing spots before my eyes.
Am I losing it?

11. the obvious question: are you taking anything? |
|
or fasting?
migraine known for hallucinations, neck pain could easily lead to migrain I would think
Sometimes just focusing too intensly can do weird things - I think one of the whole points of meditation as an alternative for recreational drug use.
Careful driving if you are still having heavy symptomes - any other like dizziness, black out etc?

Were your eyes closed by any chance while you were listening to the music? Part of your brain may have dozed off and got a little inventive. It has happened to me before and I haven't gone out on an axe-murdering spree yet. :-) A couple of times I heard voices advise me that such-and-such was going to happen. Such-and-such didn't happen. And I'm fine.
On Edit -- just rest for now and don't worry about it. Neck pain can play tricks but you are not losing it.

8. maybe a simple explanation... |
|
(maybe a wrong explanation)
if you are playing your mp3's on a computer, it could be that your sound card is receiving signals from two different sources...for instance, if you are playing a song with winamp, itunes, etc AND you open a web page that has a "soundtrack", both could be playing at the same time, thus leading to your confusion.
