Shakespeare tragedies are a disturbing trend. |
|
Last night while watching Celebrity Poker I saw a commercial for a play that has teenagers having sex and then killing themselves. Is anybody else a little concerned that plays are showing kids how to have sex and kill themselves? Who knows who called for the creation of such a play? The Marquis de Sade? Before you say, "Those plays are works of literature" the commercial said, 'Parental Guidance suggested'. Shakespeare is obviously marketed to children. The commercials I have seen for plays tell me that they promote horrific violence, gambling, dueling, poisoning, witchcraft, patricide, cross-dressing, and sexism(One play out now has a boy killing his uncle!) The air waves are flooded with Shakespeare commercials that are essentially turning people into listless zombies. Combine the Shakespeare commercials with the feminine hygeine commercials and the virtual lobotomizing of a great deal of the nation's populace is complete.
