Poll question: Who Is The Weirdest Member Of Your Family? |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 09:07 PM by Magic Rat
For me, its my dad. Throughout my entire life he has had no friends that I've ever met. His life activities involve:
1. Reading Dean Koontz books. Or any science fiction/fantasy/mystery. 2. Watching Star Trek. 3. Rooting for the NY Giants. 4. Taking walks with my mom. 5. Yelling at me to close the kitchen cabinets and throw out the little plastic bag that the newspaper comes in every morning.
That's basically my dad. Very odd, but as sweet a father as anyone could ever ask for. Never hit me (even when I deserved it); never stayed mad at me for longer than 5 minutes; never did anything but be the best father ever.
Extremely weird? Hell yeah. But extremely cool.
Who's the weirdo in your family?

he's conservative, and the rest of us are die hard liberals! so he gets to be the odd ball during political conversations, pretty much he sits there and grumbles. overall we are all pretty noraml, I mean compared to other people's families

7. my family are passive agressive |
|
if they're pissed at you there will be no yelling or airing things out, just lots of mumbled nasty remarks. I on the other hand say what's on my mind, after years of trying to fall in line i just gave up. I always was the black sheep but i've grown to embrace it. My Dad actually told he misses me not being around anymore, "Would you consider moving back to Boston." Nope, i noticed after moving away from my family that my stress level dropped a lot, i can't even blame them, i should have always just been myself.

He's self-centered and in a world of his own. Everyone just works around him and he is oblivious!

10. They ALL would say it is ME |

But they are all right winged Bible thumping Christian Kooks.
My brother went to Seminary, I went to Rehab. My brother uses faith healers, I take my meds.
BUT.....I escaped the tyranny of not being able to use your own mind. Through all of my "crazy" periods I discovered a kinder, more compassionate way of looking at the world and my place in it. Being the family's skeleton in the closet is a very freeing experience once you accept and treasure it.
And if I ever do get that farm I have dreamed of since childhood, I am going to buy BLACK sheep! I think they are much more beautiful and they've gotten a bad rap for no good reason.

I love her so much - but she is strange. Can't hear a damn thing - not since I was a kid so talking to her is hilarious, because she doesn't admit that she can't hear you. She tries to answer the best she can which is usually not even close to the answer you were expecting.
I love her!

He has a few issues.
He went through a phase where he did nothing but play solitaire - the card game - from 5 am till 8 pm. Then he'd go to sleep. I mean like for two or three months - he'd only take short breaks for the bathroom and meals.
That's not all, but there isn't time to include everything!
