NSMA! I received my Challenger print today!
Edited on Wed Dec-01-04 10:19 PM by Maddy McCall
UPS delivered it. It is number 226 of 600, signed and numbered by JD Challenger himself. You jealous?? :-)

We had started to discuss Challenger in the thread that was locked last week. I just wanted to tell you it came in.

What color matting and what kind/color frame would look good with it? I live in a very rustic cabin with a steel-green color couch and off-white area rug in the living room, and all of my other stuff is cobalt, green, wrought iron--pretty rustic. What do you think? I am taking it in for framing tomorrow.

(Hint to MisU--A framed Challenger print might make a great Christmas gift for NSMA. :-) )

1. Not NSMA, but that is absolutely beautiful!
Whatever mat you use will highlight that color in the room. Do you want to highlight the cobalt?

2. I was thinking about using the burgundy that you see on the...
center Indian's blanket.

Blue is a significant color in American Indian cosmology, though, so I might just go with a cobalt blue.

Thanks for chiming in! :hi:

3. I would mat it on mason board and frame it in a barnwood frame
That is beautiful. And yeah...I was gonna continue the Challenger discussion on another thread..I love lots of Native American artists...he's one

Karen Noles is another:

4. Wow that is a stunning print!
I'm not so much into the native american art (strange considering my mother is cherokee), but that is beautiful!

5. Thanks for the advice! Would I need glass if it is transfered to...
mason board? How is that done? If I ever want to remove it from the board, is it easy to do?

My dad has tons of old barn wood and he and I can make the frame.

Thanks for the wonderful suggestion!

8. Thanks a million
I did get it for a song and a dance. It came with a certificate of authenticity from Challenger, signed by Challenger.

It retails for 225, and I got it for 95. No one bid against me! I'm stoked...it's a great print.
