If you and a person you met online spent an accumulated 8 hours of |
|
sending LONG e-mails back and forth, getting to know each other, is that a good sign that there might be a relationship to follow?

They are very happy, so there's hope. The next step is to meet your online chat-partner on neutral ground to see if reality pans out to chateality.

But be careful.
I have met two people on the internet who asked to meet me in person. Not for romance - I am a happily married person and so were they - but just to chat.
BOTH turned out to be very weird people whom I wish I had never met. One even became hateful on the discussion board where we had met. The other one turned out to be a strange person who was uncomfortable to be around.
So I am advising you to be careful.

5. Nothing is certain until you meet in person |

If you had spent 8 hours at a coffee shop in deep conversation, that would be a complete different situation.

Alot depends on if this person lives near you.. if they do, then it would be awesome to meet at a public place. Of course you have to also assume that people on the internet arent always what they present themselves as. Most important is to meet in a public place and let freinds/family know where you are. My mom lectures me all the time about that.. always telling me the horror stories..

9. I met my girlfriend online. |
|
Moved out to IL to be with her a year and a half ago.
After knowing each other for close to three years, we're still going strong.

I've been married long enough where the internets weren't an option to meet, but if it works, cool beans! These internets are an unbelieveable medium for so many reasons. I'm glad I was here to explore!
