1. Wedding present.
And, in answer to your second question: not so far.

2. i've melted things in the microwave....
and dipped things. Does that count?:P

I love fondue, but I like going to a restraunt for it. All of the chopping and cleaning pots would drive me nuts. That and my insurance company does not let me turn on my stove because I am such a domestic nightmare:)

3. Every Halloween - and sometimes in between
It really is a quick, low-thought (and good for leftovers) creation.

8. I BUY it - Trader Joes these days
I add vermouth, extra garlic, and misc cheeses that are 'going south'. It is truly awesome for almost all leftovers!

18. I have 2 electric pots
I use them at the holiday. Usually oil in one and misc. cheese in the other one. I get a nice steak to do in the oil then dip it
in the cheese and then into steak sauce.
There is all sorts of good recipes for the cheese. A good appetizer
for the holidays.

19. We have one and use it occasionally...
It uses an alcohol burner that makes me nervous, so we don't use it as much as I'd like. I want to get an electric one, then we'd use it a lot. I love fondue. Our favorite restaurant for special occasions is The Melting Pot.

21. We have one
My mother in law gave it to us. It looks as though it's from the 70's. We use it maybe once or twice a winter. Makes for a romantic meal by the fire.

26. We own two, and we use them both
In fact, we occassionally deploy the crock pot for cheese fondue, too, if we're entertaining.

We get all three going: oil, cheeze and chocolate for desert. Mmmm, mmmmm!!!!

It's a big old-fashioned fondue fest!
