ALEXANDER: Not Nearly Gay Enough
Edited on Thu Dec-02-04 03:17 AM by DinoBoy
I saw Alexander tonight, and while it wasn't great, it wasn't as bad as most people seem to be saying. You know what would have made the movie great though? MAKING ALEXANDER AS GAY AS HE ACTUALLY WAS.

I mean seriously, you've got Jared Leto as Hephaistion, his lover since age 7 or something, but the most they do is a kiss on the cheek, but there's a SEX SCENE with the only-married-you-to-produce-an-heir wife....

Come on, how can you NOT want to make out with Hephaistion:

Or Jonathon Rhys-Meyers as Cassander

I mean seriously, for a movie about a gay guy, it's not very gay....

2. How gay was Alexander? We don't actually know. And who really cares?
A lot of guys have gay tendencies, maybe that's why there is so much quasi-homophobia? Current culture frowns on that now, so argh... when can we grow up?!!!! As a culture, I mean.

5. Ohhh...No we don't. It's all obscure. And Colin's a bad boy,
as I keep reminding the girl child. The Greeks, etc, weren't bound by fundy, tribal ethics, and I'm thinking, just perhaps, neither is Colin.
