they need 5 wins to clinch the Wild Card. It may be the year-they're playing Tampa Bay this week.
They should have NEVER lost 13-4 to Cleveland last night. How embarrassing.

like always this year is NOT bostons year. they definately arent getting homefield in the first round.(wild card only) and they are a totally different team on the road than they are at home. plus now that they took the TV out of the boston home bullpen, they cant steal signs anymore at home, hurting them there as well.
unless pedro is pitching 3 times in 5 games, they aint going no where.

I don't think it's the Yankees year. They have the best record, but something is missing.
That said, no one in the American league appears to have an edge, so any of the four teams--whoever they might be--could get the to WS.

7. Since the Mariners don't look like they're going to make it....... |

....I'll have to hope for the Red Sox as part of my ABY* strategy.

9. Now that Patriots and Bucs have won the Super Bowl, we know that pigs fly |

Does that help? I'm still holding out for that Red Sox v. Cubs "Somebody's gotta win this thing!" World Series.

I told you not to give up so easily. :)
Right now, I'm just looking to get into postseason. That's do-able, especially with Oakland out front right now. 5 is the number and the number shall be 5. Then we'll see where we go from there.
Hang in there with the rest of us. I've been doing this since the mid-60s.

11. Has anyone noticed that whenever someone posts a thread |

about whether this is the Red Sox' year, they go on a losing streak?
Ackkkkkk.
When it comes to the Red Sox I believe in all jinxes, to even say I have hope would be a jinx. So, I'm not saying it.;-)
