Red Hand logo
Just a nod to the red-handed logo. I don't remember who came up with it, but hey: Ya' done good!

Although I would never EVER suggest any illegal activities, the hubby and I were discussing how easy it would be to make a mask by tracing one's hand onto a piece of shirt cardboard, cutting it out and using some Red spray paint to, well, engage in some guerrilla tagging.

What would make it even nicer is if one could make a smaller template with the box and x and use black paint to make the logo complete.

My husband used to do some serious tagging in Pittsburgh and says it would literally take less than a minute to slap one of those things on ....a stop sign, a window or some other visible spot.

Now again, I'm only thinking out loud here. I cannot condone, nor do I suggest any illegal activities.

I'm just really impressed by the simplicity of the red hand. Pass it along to the designer please.

Thanks.

3. The Red Hand is not new....

It has ancient roots, but the Ulster Defense Association just doesn't appeal to me, somehow.

5. Somebody came up with a stop election fraud
logo with a red hand. I didn't get to comment on the thread before it disappeared into the DU ethers....

It's roots go all the way back to cave painting, where cave-persons would put their hand on the cave wall and spit a mixture of iron oxide, fat and saliva on their hand.

It may have had spiritual/religious meaning, but we can't know. We do know that a larger percentage of lefties seemed to be doing it than is normal in our current population...

see? lots of triviata to be had

some people are bound to take it the wrong way, even if mentioned in naive conversation. even with our free-thinking open minds.
