5. That's not crocheting.
If made by hand, it looks much more like tatting or possibly, actual lace which involves bobbins, not crochet hooks...

9. The potential for a flame war in a thread about doilies. Who would've
thought it possible?

6. Nice for him that he crochets
But those pictures are Battenburg lace and have nothing to do with crocheting.

Us lace makers can be pedantic about our craft.

18. You're much more versatile than I am.
Those are really pretty. Have you considered finding a county or state fair and entering something? I'm especially envious because I couldn't learn to knit, it was too difficult.

I specialize in afghans made from afghan stitch with cross stitch on top, but I do crochet other afghans.

8. I have a copycat-thread-saver for you
you could change the name of this thread to "Calling all Knitters", which would make it technically correct and would also copycat "Calling all Quitters." just trying to help man:)

15. Actually there is a difference between knitting and
crocheting. Different tools, different techniques. Not to, er, "flame" anyone or anything...
