I had a friend, who was sadly a young mother, but she lived with her parents, and it always shocked me that when her son would hit, which I think is a common thing for boys around 2 years old? That their reaction to his smacking someone (sometimes in a playful way, just kinda ruff housing) would be the smack his bottom or his hands, it just seemed to me how will a 2 year old learn that hitting is bad if you show them hitting is bad by hitting them back.
