Question About the "MORAN" Guy...
someone was trying to tell me this evening that this guy was actually part of a phony pro-war demonstration? Anyone know anything about this. Couldn't find anything on Snopes.

4. Sheesh!
Tell that guy to read some right wing hate mail sometime and he will clearly see that Mr. Moran is actually one of the better educated of their ilk. After all, he only got one word wrong.

phony demonstrators were. If they were a true parody group...there would have been some other clever signs that would have been caught on film.

6. bull
When I was protesting the war with fellow students and an impressive percentage of the faculty, there was a counter-protest about twenty feet from us, orchestrated very much in earnest by the Students for War. And no, I'm not kidding, that was the name. They basically swathed themselves in camouflage and American flags, and managed to look and sound every bit as ignorant and belligerant as the moran depicted there.

I can tell you there WERE counter-protesters to the protest of Boeing (much like the Republican counter-protesters to all the protests in NYC for the Republican convention). But it wasn't a parody protest, it was a bunch of freepers telling protesters to "shut up and go home, you sissy liberals."

WTF is the point of protesting a protest, by the way?

EDIT: If your head is spinning from the number of times the word "protest" has come up in my post, please raise your hand.

*raise*

10. I first saw this on St. Louis indymedia's site.
They had pictures of a demonstration at some sort of defense plant near St. Louis during the run up to Operation Oil Grab. They also got shots of the counter protest. This was one of the pictures.
