6. Halloween, 1970....
I let a boyfriend talk me into driving through the cemetery in Cassadega, Florida on Halloween, 1970. You have to understand that Cassadega's main industry is psychic phenomenon (sic). About 90 per cent of the people that live there are either psychics, palmreaders, or have these bookstores that cater to that sort of stuff. Anyway, we drove up there (about 40 miles) and we got half way through the cemetery -- which is very spooky at night -- and the car got stuck in something. My boyfriend had to get out of the car and walk to a nearby house. The people called the cops and they came out to help get us out. Then they took us to the station. Anyway, my boyfriend got very belligerent but I was really scared that I was going to be arrested. The chief (this must be an every day occurrence up there), asked me what kind of grades I made in school, what my after-school activities were, etc. He finally said that I was too nice a girl to be involved in something like this. He said he would call my mother if he ever caught me doing something stupid in Cassadega.

3. Carrying a naked man through the streets of Sheffield
The police very kindly asked us to put his clothes back on, and went on their way - as did his clothes again, after the police had gone. I have great respect for the police of Sheffield now.

4. Smuggling beer into California from Mexico at age 17...
Edited on Fri Dec-03-04 09:10 AM by Richardo
They just confiscated it. And probably drank after they let us go.

Oh, they also did an extensive drug search of the car since they caught us in the beer lie ("No sir, we have nothing to declare. Really.") :eyes:

Good times. :hippie:

5. alright, I'll go too
I'd quit drinking for 2 months in college. first night i had a drink again, i ended up throwing a bowl of popcorn in a townie guy's face at this really seedy bar, and, upon getting kicked out, said "you can have your mullet-infested hellhole you damn townies!" (yes, i was shitfaced). then, stripped down to my boxers on the way home, and jumped into the fountain in the middle of town. as a cop was driving by, i attempted to flip him off while standing in the fountain, and my friend punched me in the face (luckily, the cop either wasn't looking in our direction, or felt sorry for the state i was in and left us alone). probably should have been arrested for multiple infractions, but then i couldn't have posted on this thread...

8. Ahhh true confessions :)
This involves someone I was with, and I'm sure I would have accompanied him. After 911 when they started the "shoe check" at the airport.

We returned from Cancun after Christmas. They were randomly sorting people into two lines...one line "off with your shoes", the other "move along". After I saw what was in his shoes, I was soooo glad we were in the later.

:wow:

19. 2 slightly used Cooper River bridges
slated for destruction July, 2005 when the new bridge opens. These bridges must go or they will end up as rubble blocking the shipping channel of Charleston.

Asking price for BOTH is a mere $50million, you move. Included are all light fixtures, traffic signals and reversable lanes. Older of the 2 can also double as a roller coaster.

23. theft
Edited on Fri Dec-03-04 10:00 AM by gtp1976
when I was 14 I got away with stealing some condoms from a grocery store. For some reason, I was too embarrassed to buy them. Two months later, though, I got busted for the same thing at KMart. I made it out of the store, but the manager must have seen the security tape. He was cool about it, though. He said, give them back and you don't go to jail. I gave them back and he let me walk away.
