I feel that sometimes people come down too hard on a new poster who goes against the general flow of things and is not necessarily a troll. It really is an annoyance, but one I'm more than willing to put up with.

I have a few opinions that are against conventional wisdom here. I'm glad I didn't have the same reception as some newbies do, or it might have been a short visit.

7. I've been lurking on DU since early 2001.

So I knew all about freepers and what to avoid in my first few hundred posts. I've got some different ideas, but I think that most DUers could see the merit of them. Can we say slashing the defense budget along with a major foreign policy realignment including large amounts of foreign aid? If the world loves you, we don't need to be worried about anyone hating us. :D

but it's very dangerous to point out that some of the arguments for election fraud are really not very convincing or show no understanding of statistics. That really puts a target on your back. You might as well admit to being a Nader supporter.

but I like the ideas much better than the person. The problem is that in today's political environment, they don't have a chance. The world isn't perfect unfortunately. :(
