The other thing I like is that you end up watching movies just because you wonder if they're any good, so you see movies you probably wouldn't see otherwise. I've made some great discoveries.

the fact that you can line up all of a TV series. We're taking a break now, but just did the first three seasons of Homicide, which Haele hadn't seen before.

11. We're catching up on TV too |
|
We don't have HBO, so we're seeing a lot of stuff for the first time. Also, I love British comedies, so there's plenty to queue up.

I'm doing the Homicide series, also. I watched the show while it was on. But missed quite a few. Wonderful stuff. And TV shows are perfect. Time-wise. I catch one in the morning before work. I've got Arrested Development on my queue (since I've missed most of those shows) and Northern Exposure....which I'll watch during Christmas as I'm baking and wrapping presents. Gotta love the Netflix. (lots of BBC shows available, also...like Inspector Morse)

6. Yeah, that's one of the things I like, too |
|
allows you to screen a movie before you decide if you want to add it to the collection.
Their collection isn't the end all/be all, but it's not too bad.

5. And no late fees if you get lazy and forget to return those movies |
|
that you were too embarassed to get at the local rental place.
Think about how embarassing it is to rent a movie that you're embarassed to rent, AND return it late. Now, not only have you rented an embarassing movie, but you've kept it overtime, so it looks like you are REALLY into this embarassing movie, which makes the whole incident twice as embarassing :)

We watch them in spurts, so we've upped to the 5 out at a time plan. Won't watch anything for a week or two, then will watch a bunch in a week. I've got one that's been sitting here for nearly a month; we'll be watching it this weekend, now that we have time.

10. Not sure why you'd do that |
|
Unless you get DVDRs free. To me, NetFlix is my DVD collection. Why buy or burn movies if they'll send me anything I want?
(ignore this post if you have kids. You NEED movies on hand 24 hours a day)

Back then, you could REALLY rent what you were too embarrassed to pick up in person!

9. Not having to rush to the rental place to return a movie |
|
in the pouring rain and then walking through puddles in the parking lot because the idiots decided to not install a drive up drop off and then disovering the next time you rent something it really was late and then having to pay three more dollars for something that wasn't worth the original rental price to begin with and your second choice to the movie that they didn't have enough copies of...
