Do you ever wonder who was the first person ever to do a particular thing?
I wonder about stuff like this:

Who was the first person to write "WASH ME!" on a dirty automobile?

Who first baked coffee beans until they were black, then ground & boiled them and drank the result?

Who invented pie?

What do you wonder about (besides how much longer I can let my mind wander like this before I become catatonic)?

...and just how hungry was he??

(Had to be a man - women tend to have more common sense.)

5. Reminds me of an old story
about a farmer who had occasion to visit the big city. He went out for a meal at a fancy restaurant. He was served a bowl of consomme, which he ate. Then a celery salad, which he ate. Then a lobster, at which he balked. He told the waiter, "Now, look here. I drank your dishwater. I ate your bouquet. But I'll be damned if I'm gonna eat your bug."

:bounce:

11. "Knock Knock" Jokes Started in the 1920s
During Prohibition, there were "speakeasies" - bars hidden in the basements of or behind legitimate businesses. To gain access, you knocked on the door, someone on the other side would as who you were, and you had to say a specific name or phrase to get in. This led to the "Knock Knock" joke.

(This concludes this afternoon's history lesson.) :-)

44. Actually...
As I recall, there are two theories on who invented the bra. One said that a man did, one that a woman did, and both say it was sometime in the late 19th century.

15. Subject: Who did what first?

Another facet of this question is that by juxtaposing various people and events, we come to realize that, for example:
Beethoven never heard a saxophone.
Abraham Lincoln never tasted pizza.
Leonardo da Vinci never wore sneakers.
Queen Victoria never played Twister.

25. The origins of oral sex have always baffled me.
While the results are enjoyable, you have to think about what those parts were originally intended to do and wonder what was going through the mind of the first person to give it a try. It IS a little odd, if you think about it.

Or the "elephant" jokes - How can you tell if there's an elephant standing on your head in a hurricane? You can hear his ears flapping.

I think it was a commentary on Wide World of Sports or something like it, where one of the reporters said (and I am paraphrasing), "I don't consider what happened here today to be courageous. To me, the definition of courage was the first man to eat a raw oyster."

46. who figured out that if you separate the egg and beat the hell
out of the clear part, you get meringue? Which you can then bake ? Or fold into a cake to make it rise?????

who figured out that if you put butter, eggs flour, and sugar together you get a cake?

the milk thing is pretty easy: mammal babies automatically go for the milk, human, cattle, cats, etc. So even the earliest humans knew about mother's milk. So if the mother died and there was no milk for a new baby they knew they could get it from another animal because their babies lived on it. Or at least they could try.

I can't imagine why anyone who accidentally ate a persimmon when it was green ever decided to try it again later.
