Way back...way way back before FM there was AM radio. My favs from those prehistoric days were Dick Biondi..WLS Chicago, Johnny Rabbit..KXOK St. Louis and Cousin Brucie..WABC NY, NY. Also, Wolfman...from wherever he was beamed from.

2. John Records Landecker, WLS MusicRadio |
|
He HAD to be the fastest brain on the air anywhere. One night, when the Glen Campbell tune was a chart-topping smash, Landecker consumed a whole two minutes setting up this truly horrible pun: "That's a rind cow, stoned boy."
I would also like to take this opportunity to give large props to the mighty Clyde Clifford of Beaker Street on KAAY in Little Rock! (26 states and ten foreign countries. Postcards from Cuba wanting to hear more Elvis. Request line calls from Minnesota. *SIGH* )
Damn. I'm so old I remember when AM was radio.
