24. That movie was filmed in Cleveland and they had
all these extras. One of my wifes friends was picked out of the crawd to be the elf that man handles Ralphie at the top of the Santa Stairs. He had a line.

It's so cool to watch a movie and see someone you know in it....

28. I agree about "The Ref"
It's my favorite. The scenes when the family gets together for dinner is the BEST part of the movie.

Wonderfully dysfunctional! :-)

4.  yours of course and "Christmas Vacation" which is a really
goofy movie. But I like certain sections of it, such as when Chase is lighting the outside of the house and spending hours trying for ther grand display, buying a tree that is too big, etc.

5. that is my favorite too
did you notice that when he is looking in the mirror on christmas morning that there is a person in the mirror besides scrooge?

But I also like the Scrooge where everyone is singing and dancing "Thank you very much, thank you very much, thats the nicest thing anyones done for me" and scrooge is having so much fun and he doesn't know they are celebrating cuz he is dead.

13. I recently bought that on DVD. I haven't watched it yet, but
the DVD contains both the original and the colorized versions.

My favorite version of A Christmas Carol is the 1938 version with Reginald Owen and Gene Lockhart. Don't know why - I've just always had a soft spot for that one.

My favorite Christmas movie is probably It's A Wonderful Life. For comedy, my favorite is Christmas Vacation.

19. That was my vote in a similar thread:
Alistair Sim as "Scrooge" in the 1935 b&w classic "A Christmas Carol".

Best Scrooge of all time.

30. Truman Capote's "A Christmas Memory"
The 1967 ABC Playhouse version with Geraldine Page as Sook. Capote narrated. I saw it when it was new. Makes me cry every time. Not available on DVD, but there used to be a VHS version distributed from England, I think.

Second is Christmas Vacation.
