10. Me either, I'm so glad. |

I know right wingers (in fact there are two or three older women I respect quite a bit who are Republicans), but the friends I expect to exchange gifts with are all liberals.

15. I don't think I even know a Republican- if I do he must be deeply closeted |
|
However I can't vouch for the many people I have day to day contact with- my paper deliverer, pharmacist, doorman, the pizza guy, mail man etc... We don't discuss politics. However, Republican or democrat I know what I'll be giving them for Xmas- cash and a nice card. No dilemma there.
Actually I do discuss politics with my package room lady, who is Haitian, and my night doorman who is Pakistani, and nope- not Repugs. In fact, ardent Dems. Love them. Real mensches.
Which brings me to another point- people are lucky they're not being condemned to receiving gifts in keeping with my faith- Judaism. They'd be getting eight night's worth of socks most likely!

That's what Santa's supposed to give bad kids, right?
And wow -- some of them might actually have to use it, if fuel prices don't come down. It's simple and practical!

...that is if I could afford it... the republicans took all my money. In it I would put a bookmark, "It is easier for the camel to go through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to get into heaven."

are not religious, so any religious quotes are out. ;)
We bought my FIL a Harley Davidson picture frame and matching desk set and lamp. We bought my MIL a Father Christmas statuette for her collection, and I would also like to pick up something else for her, but haven't decided what.
I do not agree with their politics, but I love them anyway.

After all, they're all about personal responsibility and taking care of themselves. The only right wingers I have anything to do with are in my family - my dad and my brothers I don't get gifts for anyway as I can't afford it. As for my daughter, I'm waiting for the day she and her husband get so far in debt they ask me for help. That's not nice but it's true - I will sweetly explain to them that 1) here in Bush's Amerika I can't afford to help them and 2) it's an "ownership society" and they should take personal responsibility for their problems.
Bitchy, ain't I?
