I'm watching Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and I've
come to the conclusion that in 19th century China, they made REALLY good swords and other weapons, but they made REALLY crappy furniture.

I mean if any weapon so much as taps a piece of furniture, it explodes.

I think maybe the Chinese had something to learn from the Amish about making furniture and stuff :)

1. not to mention
that these swords easily support the weight of an adult human

and, what do you expect from people who used PAPER to build houses? :)

2. So, if we were to build a house out of 19th century Chinese swords
would it be indestructible? :)

4. I loved the fact that 19th Century folks could...
scale high walls and jump around in trees.
Somehow, we've all lost that ability.

5. Well, it was supposed to be fantasy :)
I won't fault them for flying. But, even in a fantasy concept of China, collapsable furniture just ain't practical :)

6. Whatever...I love those movies...Chrouching isn't as good as "Hero" but
I'm very fond of the Jet Li movies with all those "Muscular Men" on the beach with that fantastic music in the background.....

And, there's a little quiet Chinese Movie called "The King of Masks" which focuses on Grandfather looking for a Grandson who ends up with a "little girl" which is really a great movie for females and Males who want to pass on to Sons but end up with Feisty Grandgirls....and how this plays out is an interesting story.

The Mask is because the Grandfather is theatrical and wants to pass along his trade and needs an heir.

Only for the "Art Film DU'ers" I don't recommend this to those who are looking for Car Crash or High Tech...but those looking for plot and storyline on a small scale.....
