Law School Finals are drivin' me crazy!

It's mostly my own damn fault for taking 5 classes that had finals this semester, but I feel like the pressure is hurting my mental health already and I've got two weeks until the last test.

1. TRUE DAT!

OMG, took a short sanity break to browse DU. Feels like my head is going to explode, and the panic attack is on its way.

I'm a 1L, so I have all the tasty stuff: Contracts, Torts, Crim Law, Civil Pro. It's especially difficult because I'm an older than average student (38) and haven't been in a classroom in 13 years.

My teenage daughter thinks I'm nuts and doesn't understand why I can't stop everything and take her to the movies.

Sounds like we'll both be glad when the next two weeks passes!

3. Take a Deep Breath

Civ Pro is the "Dumbest" class for 1L's to take. You spend half of the Semester seeing all of the Torts, Contracts and Real Estate problems in the cases rather than diversity, Federal issue, etc that they are trying to teach. I think Civ Pro should be a 2L class, by that time you can ignore the Tort or Contract issue. But once you get out Civ Pro makes sense and is really easy.

Honestly, I think of this as a gift, because I've wanted to attend law school for such a long time. I'm trying to use my "life experience" to keep perspective, but the anxiety is creeping in. I should go for a walk every few hours!

I actually enjoyed Civ Pro, probably because my professor was the Dragon Lady and challenged all of us unmercifully. She helped me regain the self-discipline I needed to make it through.

Back to the books...!
