Non Tom Cruise fans check in please

Am i alone here? My friend calls me and tells me "turn on HBO quick, the last Samurai is on!" "No thanks, just got the 25th anniversary edition of blazing Saddles, thats what I'll be watching." "Are you kidding, you don't want to watch Tom Cruise, whats wrong with you?"

I dont get the appeal of him or his movies. the only one that i ever watched and liked a little was was Born on the forth of July and the liking was based on the story, not on him.

6. I don't like him, I think he's a prick.

I like his older movies, like Far and Away and Cocktail, but I really cant stand him anymore. Plus he left Nicole Kidman? What the fuck is wrong with him?... there was a thread a few days ago, who would you go gay for... something like that, but yeah I would so go gay for Nicole Kidman, I love her!

Liked him in Top Gun, and maybe Risky Business. Last Samarai is bad history; it would be a better story if they took the westerner (Cruise's character) out of it.

11. FINALLY!

i thought i was the only one! i HATE tom cruise with the fire of ten thousand burning suns. he is an unattractive, untalented, short, cocky, self-important bastard. and my boyfriend has some sort of weird mancrush on him, so i was forced to sit through 'eyes wide shut' (wrong for so many reasons of which tom cruise was but one), 'top gun' (does anybody else want to claw their brains out whenever they hear 'take my breath aaaaaawaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy'?), 'risky business', 'cocktail', 'jerry maguire' (and i hate renee zellwegger too, although she is infinitely more talented, she seems like quite the fake, so that one was double torture for me. make that triple. cuba 'show me the money!' gooding jr. makes me want to vomit), 'the last samurai' (which i liked because i simply alternately ignored cruise and pretended he was another actor), 'minority report' and i'm sure when i go back home i shall be forced to take in 'collateral'. kill me now.

12. Oh great... We were just about to sit down and watch...

... The Last Samurai for the first time... I WAS excited as I heard it was a good movie, but now, I just don't know...

15. the battle scenes are good, it's historically accurate,

but the last part of the movie, where he kneels in front of the emperor, it looks like he's pinching a giant loaf (the veins are sticking out in his forehead).
kinda ruins the previous two hours for me.
i am definately not a tom cruise fan. it isn't his acting, it's the fact that he can be found in crappy movies.

'Vanilla Sky' was O.K. but not great same with 'Minority Report' he seems to be on this Sci-fi/Psy-op thriller action/adventure kick right now. Seems like he has done a lot of those types of movies lately, which I like, but I don't particularly like him in those roles.

He's the same in every freaking movie, so it gets boring...I'll take Blazzing Saddles anyday over any Tom Cruise movie...I just got the 25th Anniv. Edition a few week ago..."The Sheriff is a Ni$@@#@", "He said the Sheriff is near" :)
