Any WWII memorabilia people out there?
My family is looking to sell a Norden Bomb sight that my grandfather had for years. However we have no idea what these things are worth...I don't know much about ours except that it is a dusty hunk of metal, anyone have a ballpark idea about how much I should sell it for. I don't want to take it to a collector or sell it on e-bay and get ripped off

3. Priceless.
Go to the nearest airplane museum, ask what they'd value it as a tax write of for the donation. Then make them put a 'donated by' or 'in memory of' plaque next to it. Bet you'd get a better tax write off then price on EBAy.

5. Nix on the Museum
Some Museums don't really want random items and don't display them. They store them away from public view. If you are giving it away I suggest the VFW.

7. That might depend upon the museum
If they want to donate it, I would suggest they contact the Pima County Air and Space Museum in Tucson AZ. They have a broad variety of aircraft from Second World War so might have an interest.

9. I didn't say just go donate, I said go ask...
Never hurts to ask, and that gives you an idea of what to start the bidding at.

4. Here is some help....
Do you know what kind of Airplane he flew in and if it came from his airplane? I will become a named item (an item with a history, not just random surplus). Sell it on e-bay with a reserve. Let me guess $750-$1500...Was he in B-26's?

6. He wasn't a pilot...
a friend of his gave it to him shortly after the war. My grandfather was an avid collector of WWII era items. I wish I had gotten a better history on the item before he died because I would be interested to know about it myself. When I get home I have to check if there was a cereal number on it maybe that could help me out

8. Ok, but e-bay is still the place to go...
Big dollar collectors buy there...In the description put this line...."B-17, B-24, B-25. B-26, B-29" It will attract all collectors.

10. Here is a little bit of info on the Norden bombsight
It sounds like it was a super secret project so what you have my be a priceless artifact. Give it to your grand kids.
