Is it wrong for me to listen to - and like - Public Enemy?

I'm a white guy, I've listened to many of their songs, and outright agree with them on most counts.

Is that wrong?

I am white as well, and there is nothing wrong with Public Enemy.

2. PE is one of those artists that everybody should be aware of

regardless of race. similar to recognizing people like Louis Armstrong or Billie Holiday.

Lyrically, they generally make powerful and right social statements. And definitely not killing cops and raping women and other things like that.

It's a way to get the message out and people should listen.

haha i am kidding... no pressure. i love PE, and i'm white/E.indian. i hope you haven't gotten a lot of flack for this, but it seems as though you may have since you're conducting a poll. anyway, hope the results help :)

6. I'm semi-upset too. I did ask why for those who said yes. Indeed,

they are proving a point of mine. By not speaking their mind, the issue at hand does not get resolved.

Is there a good reason why? If I never listened to it or never would, especially that I now know what their lyrics are about, that would leave me and others ignorant of valid issues.

'Coward' is definitely harsh, but I do feel regret that those who said 'Yes' are not taking a prime opportunity to express themselves. This could be a lively and edifying debate.

7. Music is sound, its not black or white

Ideas and music. How could they possibly be for only one type of person? An idea is an idea no matter who is playing or listening. You are made better for hearing a new idea whether you agree or not. It enables you to better understand how the others in the world are thinking.
