Hotmail help, please! How do I hide the 'to' addresses when
sending an email to a group I have set up?

I was hoping just the name of the group would display, but instead, everyone's individual addresses are displayed, and that's not really a good thing to do!

Can anyone give me a hand?

I guess I could use the bcc function and just send the 'to' to myself, but is there another way?
Thanks

1. This is advice EVERY PERSON should follow when sending bulk email
Nothing is worse than having my email included in with 1200 other address when some buttass friend of mind decides to "forward" some essential piece of shit email.

When sending email to a group, unless everyone in that group needs to know who it was sent to (such as, you are sending to the Board of an oragnization) and might need to easily respond to everyone in the group, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS bcc: everyone. to: it to yourself, and bcc: the rest of the crew.

Anything else is insulting, and potentially dangerous (in terms of spamming and/or giving someone's email address to someone they don't want it going to).

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS use bcc:.

it is your friend.

If I understand? The TO: should be BLANK..and all the TO email adresses should be in the BCC?

4. IF you were ONE of many email adresses.......
what would YOU see when the email reached you? Would the TO be balnk and would you not think it was spam?

5. Don't leave the to: field blank
If do, some spam catchers might decide it's spam.

Send the email to yourself.

Better yet, and I should have said this first, is to send the email as a batch file, so that it goes to everyone you want, but gets sent to each one individually as a separate email. But without you having to send each one individually.

That also helps with spam filters - sometimes, a bcc:ed email can get blocked. Not often, thank God, but sometimes.

but if you're using some kind of shit email program, like Outlook, or, God Forbid, a BROWSER, forget it. That ain't gonna happen.
