went to repub xmas party
It was very strange this year (husband member of snotty repub club)..was expecting crowing over election.. it was so morose. People kept saying they didn't want to attend and had to drag selves there.

Very quiet and somber. Not one person bragged about the fortune they had made this year as is the usual cocktail banter.

Perhaps those republican "values" are feeling remorse or guilt already? Or stock portfolios aren't rising to fruition as promised?

1. Chill wind blowing...
Maybe they feel the same thing we feel. I think the future is not going to be pretty...between a deficit that's out of control, a trade balance that's just as bad, and Peak Oil coming like an out of control freight train, we've got big problems and no viable solutions at hand.

The pugs have all the control they wanted. But I think they won't enjoy it.

2. My boss
has a buddy who is a big Repuke. He warned my boss that the next year is going to be a rough one. Apparently they think things are going to tank as well. Why they voted for Shrub is beyond me.

3. Read From the wilderness.
The guy is talking about a major currency crises.

No one in the world can take on the U.S. military. So, his theory is that other countries will stop buying our debt and lending the U.S. money. If that happens, interest rates will go up, the economy will tank, and - as we saw with the U.S.S.R. - a sick economy cannot support a robust military.

We've made a lot of enemies. The question becomes, just how nasty will the whole mess get?

5. Christmas is a religious holiday
If anyone of them really believe the Christian doctrine their idiot in chief spouts, it might be that the religious holiday -

increases their fear of burning in hell forever!
