Remember the Altamont

So it's been 35 years (today) since the infamous Rolling Stones concert that in some ways promptly ended the flower power feel good of the 60s.

Remembering Meredith Hunter and the others that died that day. Anyone here old enough to remember this? Or even better (worse), was anyone here actually there?

1. I remember...
..but I wasn't there.

Hell's Angels, Rolling Stones, sympathy for the devil.

4. The murder took place...
...during 'Under My Thumb'. NOT while 'Sympathy for the Devil' was playing.

3. I was there.
The "flower power feel good of the 60's" was already dead, really. Since I didn't get too close to the stage until the Stones came on, I really didn't know about the beatings, just that the Angels were acting like assholes. When I did get close to the stage, it was on the far side from where the murder took place, which almost no one knew about until the next day.

I have a lot of mixed emotions about the day, for obvious reasons.

6. Freaky. Another one I remember was people getting
Trampled somewhere in Ohio at a concert due to "festival Seating". WKRP in Cincinatti a normally funny show even ran part of a show about it. I wanna say this was The Who.

Never did find the stage though. Psycotropically impaired.
