My Grandfather used to tell me that he kept a bat to hit Santa with

on Christmas Eve. Yeah, he was a funny old coot. Still I loved him. Great Sense of humor. But he said that if Santa came down the chimney he wouldn't spring from his bed to see what was the matter. He would spring from his bed grab and bat and hit jolly old St. Nick for breaking into his house. He also said he was tired of that jolly old "fat" elf stealing all his cookies and milk every Christmas Eve. He always said all of this with a straight face but even as a kid I knew he was joking. On every Christmas morning we would get up and there would be lots of presents in and around the stockings and he'd say, "damn if he didn't sneak in again."

2. My best friend in high school was terrified of Santa because

when she was a child, her mother told her that if she wasn't asleep when Santa arrived, he would scratch her eyes out.

Can you imagine how she, as a child, must've felt? Lying there, trying to get to sleep, scared out of her mind.

I'm sure her mother was just trying to get her to go to sleep, but I cannot fathom why she would tell her child that. Some parents are such idiots.
