I hate Birthdays
They always leave me depressed and feeling bad about my life.

I'm 45 today......I keep telling myself just hang in there till tomorrow.....sigh

I could really use some cheering up guys (Thia is a plea for pity, attention, sarcasm, whatever you got!)

1. Happy Birthday
Edited on Mon Dec-06-04 11:34 AM by flamingyouth
Even though you hate getting older. I know I do too. Part of the problem, I think, might be having your birthday be in the month of December (like mine is). It's a particularly crappy time to think about getting older, I think.

Take yourself out to lunch, or treat yourself to something nice.

Edit - I too am feeling particularly crappy about my life, so I feel for you.

5. it's not so much that I hate getting older
I hate looking older!

No, it's more like my birthday forces me to look at my life in ways that i would rather not. The whole "what have you accomplished" thing - also it always makes me reevaluate my relationships with various people in my life and i'm not always happy with what i see.
Tomorrow I'll be fine - it's just today that makes me miserable.

btw, thanks!

17. I know what you mean about the accomplishments
When I turned 25 I was mega depressed. I was not where I had thought I'd be at that age. I had two kids in diapers, was going to school full time at night after working all day and on the weekends. Not at all what I'd had planned.

3. Happy Birthday!
Lovely weather we're having isn't it? Maybe the monsoon is why you're all depressed.

You're still a lovable huggable decent Texas Dem who deserves a nice day EVERY day, not just on your birthday.

Here's a squeeze:
and the donut I'd like to give you: :donut:

and Happy Birthday. We only get to say that to you once a year!

Don't think of it as getting older but instead, getting wiser.

Have a great day!

16. I completely understand.
Nothing like a birthday to make you take stock of all you've done (or, more accurately, not done). What can that lead to but depression and sadness? I just dodder around day after day taking care of what needs taking care of and watching life pass me by. It's a wonder I don't open up a vein, honestly.

Thanks for reminding me.
