I'm hiring for a job and one applicant is a major fundy.
Fortunately this applicant is also extraordinary unqualified for the position, so I doubt he'd ever make the second or third cut much less the first cut for interviews.
I strongly support freedom of religion and would never seek to discriminate on that basis.
But before I realized how unqualified the applicant was I was struck by the possibility of working very closely with someone whose worldview is so different from my own.

I've denied hiring a fundy at one job simply because he would not fit in with the office culture.
We were a rowdy bunch, and teamwork was extremely important in this job.

Sometimes I let my ideals get in the way of practical functioning.
