I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow and I'm freaking out
It's all about confrontation and splainin to the nice lady that I do not want to look like a retired Floridian, or like I was cookie cut out of a makeover tv show.

I have to add that the pressure is being put on me to cut my hair because I have to start interviewing for work. Wa-a-a-a--a, why can't I just stay the way I am? Everybody wants to change everybody else.

1. Take a picture of the cut you want.
And remember, hair always grows back.

2. That's what I do.
Take a picture, explain as much as you can, try not to cry when you style it yourself the next morning.

4. I am getting my hair cut tomorrow as well..........................
I have hair long enough to reach the middle of my back and I'm going to donate it to "Locks of Love", in which they'll take my hair and make a wig for a cancer patient. I'm no longer freaked out about cutting my hair as I have grown it out several times. Its only hair, it'll grow back!

I agree with other posters who say bring a photo. That'll alleviate any doubt about what you want.

As far as cutting your hair to meet your interview expectations, I agree its bullshit, and I have dealt with it many times (long hair on guys is generally not attractive to employers). However, existing in this society is a game, and you need to play as close to the rules to get you what you want while not compromising your core principles. In other words, pick your fight!
