My boy and I have a fundamental disagreement on the inclusion of chocolate (chips, preferably, though M&Ms are ok) in Gorp.
We agree on the other bits (peanuts, raisins, dried cranberries, the occasional almond), but chocolate! I say it's not worth bringing without it! He says it melts, is messy, and clashes with the cranberries.
How, oh how, to resolve such an issue? Do we trade off, weekend to weekend with and without chocolate? Do I bring a separate small satchel of chocolate treats (which would never make it out of the car/train/bus, as I would devour them on route)? Goodness me! What can we do?
Any solutions to this very serious dilemma would be much appreciated.
