Are democrats more likely to be cat lovers than dog lovers
I'm a dog lover, but I notice there seems a lot more cat owners here than dog owners.

1. Dogs = Freepers
As IF. But seriously there does seem to be a disproportionate amount of cat people on here.

7. Right on. Cat lovers respect independence and don't require slobbering
devotion. We also respect the intelligence of our pets. They must be smart, they have us treating them like the deities the Egyptians thought they were!

For the record, I'm a cat lover, although I do like dogs... I agree with most of the above cartoon...

on edit: I wasn't calling out this thread as a dupe, mind you. I just thought the other thread was an appropriate reference to the subject of this thread.

10. Dog lover myself
I don't hate cats. Just prefer dogs as pets. They're loyal where as cats can be finicky.

11. I'm an animal lover
Dogs
Cats
Birds
Rodents
Reptiles
Fish
Amphibians
Arachnids
Arthropods
Vertebrates
Invertebrates
Slime molds
Not really fond of insects
;)

If I lived out in the country, I'd have big critters too.
But right now, just two cats and four birds. My dog died a few years ago, but still miss her and, don't have enough time and love to go around with all of the above.

Cant say if I'm more of a cat person or dog person. Dogs are great for some things, cats are great for others.

13. Well the two biggest Republicans I work w/ are both cat lovers!
They're also both women and born again Christians though I don't think the cat thing is necessarily linked to the other traits (the born again and Republican traits are definitely linked!)

I think more people these days are cat lovers because the high pressure, highly mobile, society we live in now is not conducive to caring for dogs. Ya' really gotta' love 'em. I know - I have two and they require a lot of commitment and planning. Whereas the cat, (inherited her a long time ago - long story) not so much.
