1. Also, he liked Bill Clinton. Methinks it's those lib vibes you're getting!
Maybe not, but dang he's the only country lad I find yummy.

7. Something else you have to hand to country song lyricists
They really know how to turn a phrase:

She's actin' single and I'm drinkin' doubles.
Two of a kind workin' on a full house.

And there're hundreds more.

5. Not all country is awful. Just most of it.
As for the good, off the top of my li'l head, there's...

Hank Williams
Dwight Yoakam
The Mavericks
k.d. lang (the early years)
Lone Justice
Rank & File
Dixie Chicks
The Judds
Stompin' Tom Connors
JOHNNY FRIKKIN' CASH.

And so many more!

6. There's also something cool about Willie Nelson
I know you probably hate Toby Keith, but the duet they did was so good, and Willie was cool as hell in the video.

8. Tim Mcgraw is hot!
Makes me wish I could meet a hot, liberal, open minded, educated, well spoken, respectful of women cowboy....and make him walk around in the clothes Tim wears with that black cowboy hat ...and just succomb to my raw animal female instincts... phew..is it getting hot in here?

:smoke:

10. I thought I remember reading that his wife Faith Hill
is a George Bush-lovin Repuke.

Not that that necessarily reflects on him, but just sayin...

12. I don't know if they are or not.
I know she played for the troops but I think I remember them saying that they didn't necessarily agree with the reasons for going to war but they wanted to support the troops.
Whatever it was it made me think they might be democrats but I don't know.

14. Have you heard this one?
It tears me into pieces when I hear it. It's just...me. My story.

Used to chase that boy home from school

Called him freckle faced, red headed fool

He was different, he wasn't cool like me

Sticks and stones didn't break any bones

But I never left well enough alone

One day he ran away from home you see

And I passed him as he walked away

And in his eyes I heard him say

One of these days you're gonna love me

You'll sit down by yourself and think

Of all the times you pushed and shoved me

And what good friends we might have been

And then you're gonna sigh a little

And maybe even cry a little

But one of these days you're gonna love me

Patty Sue was a small town beauty

I took one look at her and had to pull her to me

Lord knows she should have seen right through me

When I promised her the world

But at seventeen, you only want one thing

I left her standing with my high school ring

Innocent tears in the fallin' rain

As I walked away

And I still see her in my dreams

And to this day she's whispering

One of these days you're gonna love me

You'll sit down by yourself and think

About the time you turned from me

And what good friends we might have been

And then you're gonna sigh a little

And maybe even cry a little

But one of these days, you're gonna love me

Now everybody stands up

The congregation sings

It's a song of sweet forgiveness

And as the chorus rings

The wind blows clear my memory

The pages start to turn

And suddenly I'm singing

The moment that I learn

One of these days I'm gonna love me

And feel the joy of sweet release

One of these days I'll rise above me

And at last I'll find some peace

And then I'm gonna smile a little

And maybe even laugh a little

But one of these days...

I'm gonna love me

15. I love that song.
First time I heard it, I bawled. I love songs that evoke emotion, whether laughter or tears.

20. If you haven't watched the Here and Now Special,
it's on all this month on USA Network. God that man is hot. And it just ended. That's why I was all about the Tim McGraw for an hour. I think I'm going to bed now. It's been fun. Good night folks.
