32. We make a yearly pilgrimage
to Vegas! A lot of fun! Though, more than three nights, and I start to go batshit crazy! We have stayed at the MGM Grand and at Mandalay Bay. I really would like to try the Venetian and the Mirage, but we've got player points at Mandalay, so we are staying there again. It's nice, with some great restaurants and some good bars. Plus, the hotel is pretty nice.

Isolated if you want, or you can go to where there are more people. But there's something about being on a deserted-looking island that's just cool... :)

Edited on Tue Dec-07-04 04:38 PM by Aiptasia
Race you to jockey's ridge. Oh wait, wrong barrier island. I must have left my brain back in Kill Devil Hills. I can remember deap sea fishing trips with my dad off of ocracoke, eating freshly prepared dolphin (don't go crazy, the fish not the mammal, mahi-mahi) and tasting my first "Bit-O-Honey" at the Pony Motel.

Actually, the Pony Motel was the one and only motel/hotel on the island at that time. It sure has changed.

I still own a lot in Kill Devil Hills, that backs up to the nature conservancy on the bay side (facing Maneo). I've always dreamed of retiring there.

31. Italy
I love the history in Rome. The beauty of the Amalfi Coast and Sicily. The worldliness of Milan. The quaint tourist-trapness of Venice. The artwork of Florence. The food everywhere! It's wonderful in so many ways!

Hawaii is also good. I spent my honeymoon there, and I stayed in some great places. I preferred the Big Island to the rest, primarily because it was sleepy and uncrowded. We stayed in a kick ass hotel, and it was just heaven. But, Kuaii and Maui and Oahu all had things going for them, as well!

I was there in 1967 and 1970. I'm becoming an old fart.
