Who besides me is boycotting the White House Christmas Special

I saw just the commercial for it last night and just about lost it.

last week...the monstrosity looked like it had snot all over it.

It takes a special "talent" to make a Xmas tree look bad...and Pickles has got it.

11. I like HGTV but those promos are driving me nuts.

I hate the idea that we all are paying for all those decorations ( and they seem a little much) and then the public probably are barred from the white house because some little old lady could have a bomb in her bra.

especially Divine Design and Design on a Dime...
but it is hard suffering through these commercials

The "hostess" for the special is the blonde from one of the other design shows, the one where the do the under $500 makeovers, and the no cost decorating (decorators come in and rearrange your furniture and accessories to make it look better, and it always does)

I don't know who actually designed the stuff, and how much is from the White House historical society (private donations ) money or what?

I think there is a special fund that is privately maintained to decorate and upkeep the House, plus probably a certain amount of Federal $$ per year just for the day to day functions of the House and the staff.

I agree on the drippy tree. Looks like the brontosauras from "Jurrassic Park " sneezed on it!! But then I hate flocked trees anyway.

Would I watch it if it were the Gores ? More than likely
Would I have watched it if it had been broadcast during the Clinton admin. Probably.

For one thing, I wouldn't have to look at Shrub and his family.

For another, it would proably have looked better anyway.

the *es hosted some sort of Christmas special where they looked at the past president's and how they celebrated the holidays at the WH.

My mother watched the show and she said they completely omitted the Clintons.
