Not an official proposal, but how about a singles group... |
|
Anyone else think this is a good idea...a place for singles to go and discuss, you know singles issues...dating, living alone, parenting and so on?
Anybody else interested...
Though I'll probably let someone else make the actually proposal to the mods...I'm still exhausted from this morning...

being single. I seem to be doing just fine accomplishing that on my own. ;-)
Sure a singles group would be good.

4. How about singles night at the lounge |
|
Or ladies night. That always guarantees a good turnout.

8. I just spend way too much time on my computer |

And I have a tendency to post copy cat threads for a cheap laugh.
Oh yea, I also know somebody at Diebold.

Here's what Skinner says...
If you are considering a DU Group on a controversial topic, the Administrators would appreciate if you contacted us before collecting your ten members, so we may discuss any sensitive issues. This courtesy will increase the chance that your Group is approved. Also, please be aware that proposed Groups that are redundant with existing DU Forums are unlikely to be approved.
So maybe I should bring this over to the Administrators attention first.
I thought I'd see what everyone else thinks...
Seriously now...

11. I'm still trying to figure out a way to post my photos |
|
where they don't come out so small that you can't notice the details. I've joined photobucket, choosing the upgraded paid version, but my pictures still come out small once I post them on DU. I know this because I tried posting down there the other day and I previewed the post before submitting it. I ended up deleting the post.

13. Are you posting the thumbnails maybe? |
|
Highlight and copy the URL address as it appears in the first box bellow the picture, not the address directly below the picture.
Or perhaps you need to resize the picture before posting.
Review the image before uploading it to photo bucket. Generally the size of the .jpg on your screen will be the same as it appears on DU.
I know it took me a while to get used to it too.

16. Thanks to the replies so far... |

The only reason I'm asking around is because I've meet one or two DUers thus far on these boards who are seemingly single and looking...
I noticed there was a new group called "Loners" for people living alone but that group seems to be intended more for folks who choose to live alone or not interested in starting families, not for those who live alone even though they don't want to/ are divorced/ or have had to move back in with their parents (like me)...but don't want to live alone and are either actively seeking someone/ or just starting to get back on the scene (once again, like me)...
Maybe the Lounge wasn't the best place to post this..but there seems to be a lot of traffic around here from lonely guys and gals...
Maybe tomorrow I'll go to ATA and ask them what they think.

of a singles thread you have several married people joining in. You'll have to decide if you want it to be a singles only group or not.

that anyone who wanted to join would join out of 'good faith' that they are single and serious. I not talking "dating group", though that would be an open topic for discussion, once again I'm thinking support group.
Disrupter's will be treated as they would be in any other group...
Once again, this is not a proposal, just an idea I'm mulling with.

I'm think about staying single for at least a year to make sure I am completely over my last relationship.
I think a singles support group would be swell.
