The Beta Fish, Potter, just died...
They're going to the bathroom to have a funeral right now. It's just a damned fish. Flush him and forget about it. You're not 6 anymore. :eyes:

3. Yeah.
I think the problem was she put him a smaller bowl this morning. He was actually swimming around this morning. I think she killed him by taking him out of the big bowl.

4. poor little guy
I once had a fish that grew a tumor on his head and couldn't swim upright. It was pretty sad, but alas, it was just a fish. Sorry fish lovers.

5. We had a Beta for 3 years, Frank was his name
and i'm almost sure he died because i cleaned his little tank, they seem to do better in dirty water.

10. My Betta Maxwell is going on 2
A miracle, considering I nearly killed him a year ago.

16. That is a great name for a fish!
Really...for some reason I just think that is such a cool name. Maybe because I've never heard of a fish called frank before.

6. They don't live very long anyway...
Mine only lasted 7 months after I got him. I know I can keep fish, I've had a gold fish for 8 years now...Don't think I could flush it.

Not in one piece, anyway. Kinda big.

12. I had a Beta last almost ten years
I got him at a carnival when I was a toddler, he got fin rot and died when I was twelve. We didn't do anything special, I think he was just a mutant. ;)

15. Mine was six when he died.
I love bettas. They're great pets. I have one now, and he is 2. He seems pretty fine, so fingers crossed!

18. I'd like to get 10 year's time with one.
I miss him. He'd act genuinely happy to see me when I'd come home, as opposed to my goldfish, who remind me of my ex-wife's kids ("Hey! that guy who drops food in to us is home! Dinner!")

But then, I don't know shit about keeping fish, remember? ;-)

20. They do have a way about them.
My goldfish, Mr. T, was the same way. He was a fantail, but he was generally unaware of the goings on. My betta and my oscar are much more receptive to people.

21. Certainly!
Obviously my pre-adolescent self knew far more about keeping fish than you do, you rotten fish-killer you. Surely there isn't an element of luck in all of this longevity stuff or anything? ;)

9. A little flour seasoned with salt, pepper, flash fried with a pinch of
garlic would have done just fine.

13. I Hate It When One Of My Fish Dies...
Edited on Tue Dec-07-04 02:56 PM by arwalden
I don't really LOVE them the same way I love my fur-babies... so I'm not heartbroken whenever it happens, but still, I hate to see them die.

Sorry your little guy died.

19. I understand.
I am pretty attatched to my tiger oscar, BUF. Several times he has given me quite a scare by playing dead. I guess I have come to really love him because I watched him grow up from a tiny little thing that the other chiclids would pick on to a gargantuan monster. That's why his name is BUF. My husband named him "Big Ugly Fish".
