they had that bazooka joe powder wrapped around them to keep the paper from sticking. If you blew on them just right, you could mimic "smoke" and feel like the ultra cool nine year old.

9. My parents tell me a story from when I was about 4 or 5

I got some fake smokes for Easter and while in church they heard laughing from some people around them. They looked over and I was standing up on the pew with a ciggie in my mouth acting like I was lighting it up. These days they would probably be in prison for that one.
