504 HOURS (or three weeks) Without A Cigarette!!!!
I've passed the three-week mark this hour. It feels so good now.

Hope everyone else is doing well with their struggles against the evil plant, and its partner in crime - the RNC.

:toast: to everyone who's trying to quit, keep it up!

3. well, i wasn't that energetic before I started smoking
but I notice I don't hack up black fleghm anymore and can actually hold a deep breath.

Plus I don't smell stinky and can actually smell things myself now. For instance, I forgot that a Christmas tree smelled like a car freshener. :D

7. Hot Damn!
You rock out loud, Magic Rat! I stopped smoking after an 18-year habit; it was one of the best things I ever did for myself.

Give yourself a pat on the back.

it?

I've smoked through Democrat and Republican administrations and never thought of it as a political issue.

I drive a car places where I could walk------is the evil auto industry an RNC issue? I take a prescription drug, fattening the pockets of Big Pharma----is that an RNC issue?
And what about the powerful liquor industry?

This is so typical DU it makes me laugh!

14. in the entire history of the Republican party
nobody has given them as much money as the Tobbacco lobby. They trump the oil lobby, the gun lobby and the defense lobby.

Phillip Morris is their No. 1 All-Time donor, with over $10 million given to them over the years.

RJ Reynolds is No. 10 All-Time with over $3 million.

10. I quit over ten years ago
I found that counting the days and the time was not neccessary. You are just reminding yourself that you are a smoker. Try to not think about the time you have not smoked but instead think about how clean your lungs a becoming and how a strange and fowl smell does not accompany you into the room and how much more welcomed you are in public places and how much longer you may live to see your family etc etc etc..That is of course when you feel you have to think about it. It really is best just to beleive that you never did smoke and so there is nothing to count about!

13. Watch out for the holidays
They have rekindled many a bad habit. Be aware!
How does food taste now? That was one of the first things I noticed. Could taste subtleties. Didn't need to salt everything.
Keep it up. And take the money you are saving and invest for a future you now have!
