5. to explain it:

There is a Pastry typical to Berlin called "Pfannkuchen" (pancake). It is somewhat like a jelly doughnut, except that it is a whole lot more yummy.
This pastry got adopted by all other German regions (and most of the world) under various names, "Berliner Pfannkuchen" or short "Berliner" (or "Berlinerbollen") is used in some north-western regions.

In Berlin, a "Berliner" is always a citizen of Berlin (or a Beer, but that's another story...)
