3. I can't think of the name
of the place on Rt. 19 on your way into Zelienople that carries all kinds of penny candy and foods from around the world. They carry marzipan.

Wexford, I think.

blahhhhhh, I can't remember the name of the place and I grew up in Mars.

7. Hey
I grew up in the Warrendale/Thorn Hill area. I hung out with a lot of people from Mars. Maybe we know each other.
I don't remember seeing the store the last time I was there. The place has changed so much.

8. No, it's still there
In fact CBS's Sunday Morning program did a segment on it just a few months ago. And you're right, it's Warrendale, not Wexford. Right about the place where 528 comes into 19 from 68 going into Evans City.

Guess I'm going to have to email my sister and ask her because I still can't remember the name.

It would depend on how old you are whether we knew each other but hell, if you're from that area and your family has been there any length of time, we're probably related.

I'm sure you've probably had dealings with the Purvis, Rice, Harter, Rape, Thieleman, Zeigler, etc families...which are all mine.

4. Try Ikea

in Robinson. They have marzipan in their food selection near the cafeteria.

Ikea is great for Christmas shopping, they have many unique gift items.

I don't know if they still do it but they used do a special deal on Christmas trees. You would buy the tree for $20 and then in January they would recycle the trees by shredding them.

The resulting mulch would be donated to local parks or beautification projects.

When you took back your tree for recycling they would either give you $10.00 back or a coupon for $20 off on a purchase of $100.

My wife and I love to shop Ikea.

5. There's Gene and Boot's candy shop on RT. 22 just East of Murrysville
Maybe they'd have it, telephone first. Also Candyrama in Pittburgh might have some, but they generally specialize in wholesale of mass produced candy.
